Underwater Acoustics specialist

A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Underwater Acoustician to join a small but expanding business in Southampton.

The successful candidate will have proven underwater acoustics experience and should be able to manage multiple tasks, ranging from research and development of new and existing products, to working with Engineers and clients to specify, evaluate and support systems after they are installed in the UK and overseas.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 five years’ experience of underwater acoustics, including R&D of acoustic systems. You will be proficient in undertaking underwater acoustic measurements and acoustic modelling and have some experience of impact of underwater sound on marine life.

Knowledge of micro-electronics and circuitry, programming languages (such as Embedded, LabVIEW), communication frameworks (such as Modbus over RS485) would be an advantage.

A degree in Acoustics is essential for this role, as are excellent presentation and communications skills.

You will have prior experience of successfully working in a commercial organisation.
