Principal Noise Consultant (Renewables)
Our client is seeking to appoint a Senior Noise Consultant to help deliver projects across Scotland from their offices in Stirling (remote working is fine, but candidates must be based in Scotland).
You should possess at least 6+ years experience delivering Environmental Noise projects across subjects such as onshore Wind Farms, Waste and Land Quality.
Candidates should be capable of conducting Landscape & Visual Impact Assessments and modelling using CADNA software.
You will work alongside a talented team of Engineers and Scientists from other disciplines (such as Process Engineering, Hydro, Archaeology & Heritage).
Applicants at the higher end of the salary range but would be expected to bring clients / assist in new business development activities.

This graduate position would suit candidates who have recently completed the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma in Acoustics & Noise Control.
In addition to carrying out Industrial / Occupational / Noise at work assessments, you will be trained in all areas of Occupational Hygiene work, including -:
- Risk assessments of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems
- Health & Safety at work

Underwater Noise Scientist / Field Engineer
We are seeking a Project Scientist / Field Engineer to
join the UK operation of an international group of companies specialising in
the design and manufacture of acoustic instrumentation, conduct of large scale
and complex acoustic recording projects and numerical acoustic modelling of
underwater noise.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated
and committed candidate to join this highly respected specialist underwater
acoustics consultancy. The group employs some of the world’s leading acoustic
and bioacoustic scientists and candidates will need to demonstrate an
exceptional level of academic capability and a high standard of written English
to be successful.
The role principally involves advanced numerical acoustic
modelling for a range of industrial activities, preparation of reports and
presentation of results. A number of coding languages are used in the
businesses modelling methodologies and there will be a steep learning curve
requiring a diligent, proactive and thorough approach. Coding skills are
essential as is an ability to work logically to manipulate large volumes of
data in a variety of software applications. The work is also highly
collaborative, and a typical project involves input from experts in a number of
different offices around the world - therefore good communication skills are
vital.
The principle field role will involve preparation,
deployment and retrieval of a variety of underwater acoustic instrumentation
packages in coastal and offshore environments.
There will be a requirement at times for a significant amount of world
travel in addition to technical training overseas and candidates must be able
to travel away from home for periods of up to one month, at short notice,
without any domestic impediments.
Candidates will require both a strong academic background
in either acoustics, physics, applied oceanography, engineering or maths as
well as a willingness and practical ability to work effectively at sea and cope
with the physical aspects of handling occasionally large and complex acoustic
equipment in sometimes challenging settings.
The role offers a significant amount of responsibility at
an early stage and the successful candidate must demonstrate a considerable
degree of self-reliance, initiative, attention to detail and an ability to work

You will have significant experience in dealing with

applications for Section 61 consents for construction and demolition works. Noise
modelling experience using SoundPLAN would be advantageous.

services to clients both independently and as part of a co-ordinated
multi-disciplinary offering on larger projects. They currently have an exciting
opening within their London team for Senior / Principal Consultant who will
take responsibility for acoustic input on a wide range of built environment
engineering projects and will provide management and supervision to projects
and team members.
As a leading source of expertise, your input at design
meetings and providing of clear advice to clients, architects and engineers
(internal and external) on design issues relating to acoustics, noise and
vibration will be crucial. The technical duties will include preparing and
overseeing fee proposals for acoustics, noise and vibration assessments, sound
management programmes and design specifications - which includes liaising with
clients, acquisition and collation of data, computer modelling, noise and
vibration monitoring, noise and vibration measurements, calculations and
processing of results, interpretation of data, and production of reports,
drawings, figures and tables.
Particular experience is sought in relation to building
acoustics design for commercial fit outs. The team advises clients extensively
across the technology and legal professions.
